Biblical Story Workshop: Session 8
Aug 1, 2026 • Justin Franchino, Thomas Hickey
In this session, Justin & Thomas explore the roughly 400 years between the close of the Old Testament and the beginning of the New. We trace the major empires and political changes that shaped the Jewish world, from Persia and Greece to the Maccabees and Rome, and consider what life was like for God’s people under foreign rule. Along the way, we see how God was still at work through the Diaspora, growing messianic expectation and preparing the world for the spread of the gospel. What looked like silence was actually preparation for the next chapter in the biblical story.
